Today – Presidential Election in Poland

In Poland, for the 2010 presidential election, there are recorded ten candidates, listed in alphabetic order:

  1. Marek Jurek (Right of the Republic, a splinter from Law and Justice), former Speaker of the Parliament
  2. Jaroslaw Kaczynski (Law and Justice), former Prime Minister
  3. Bronislaw Komorowski (Civic Platform), Speaker of the Parliament and Acting President
  4. Janusz Korwin-Mikke (Liberty and Rule of Law)
  5. Andrzej Lepper (Self-Defense), former Deputy Prime Minister
  6. Kornel Morawiecki (Fighting Solidarity)
  7. Grzegorz Napieralski (Democratic Left Alliance), Party Chairman
  8. Andrzej Olechowski (Independent), former Minister of Foreign Affairs
  9. Waldemar Pawlak (Polish People’s Party), Deputy Prime Minister and former Prime Minister
  10. Boguslaw Zietek (Polish Labour Party), Party Chairman
    • In spite of a short election campaign, there are two candidates: Bronislaw Komorowski, the acting President, and Jaroslaw Kaczynski, the twin that lost his bother, the former president, on the tragic airplane crash that are supposed to be placed on the first two places and to confront during the second round on 4th of July, 2010.

      Nonetheless Komorowski remains the favorite in this short race campaign as the polls indicated and had a consistent advantage over the second best placed, Kaczynski, with about 10 percentage more.
