Update – Presidential Election Poland

In Poland, after the first round in the presidential election, the results were, let’s say, surprising:

Mr. Bronisław Komorowski Civic Platform – is placed on the first place with 41,54% and

Mr.Jarosław Kaczyński, – Law and Justice – on the second place with 36,46%

so the difference is around 5%, for a turnout approx.55%, as indicated the Polish Election Commission.

At the beginning of April 2010, Mr. Jarosław Kaczyński was not seen as a serious competitor for the acting President Mr. Bronislaw Komorowski who deal without mistake during this period. But Polishes, who may be considered conservatives, reconsidered the position of the twin of former president.

Part of mass-media said that the potential victory of Mr. Kaczynski will bring serious disadvantages for Poland. Other mentioned that a victory of Mr.Komorowski will facilitate an easy accepting of the modification of the constitution regarding the veto of the president for legislation, a modification required by the Polish Parliament.

In fact, there are two persons with complete different options. See who will win and how Poland will settle the fight for 2010 presidential race.
